BHO adopted a pro-oil-drilling stance during his campaign, according to the popular opinion at the time. Less than ONE MONTH into his presidency, he has moved to block drilling offshore and cancelled oil & gas leases on over 100,000 acres of federal land. CAN YOU SAY FLIP-FLOP?
Drilling for oil and gas in the US is important for many reasons: more drilling means more employment for Americans - this should be reason enough. More oil and gas production in the US protects us from spikes in prices, like we experienced in mid-2008. More oil and gas production in the US is important for our national security - we buy too much oil from nations that are hostile to us and support terrorism. If they cut our supply off, the current economic crisis will pale in comparison to what will happen.
We need to use oil and gas until renewables are capable of supplying our energy needs. We need to get our own, for the reasons listed above.
But the biggest flip-flop... BHO signed an executive order called the Revolving Door Ban, which prohibits a lobbyist from having a job in the administration or from lobbying the administration, for two years. He then granted himself a waiver of his order within days by nominating a lobbyist for Deputy Defence Director, William Lynn! FLIP-FLOP, FLIP-FLOP, FLIP-FLOP!
In 2010, we need to replace as many of the demoncrat flip-floppers as possible!
